To install BookingBuilder, you will need to download the software, close some programs, and check on some settings.
- Download a copy of BookingBuilder- there are a couple of ways.
- You can get the installer by signing in to the BB administration website, then clicking the name appropriate BB Group on the right...
Then click on the Installation Link
That will make a BB installer file that contains the registration code in the file name- that is how BB will know what Group to be in. Registration codes are also called Quick Links.
- If you don't have a sign in for that site, or you are upgrading, you can get a copy without a Group code here. If it asks you if you want to run or save the file, choose Save. We may need to give it a Registration/Quick Link code later. That is just to the right of the Installation Link on the site, or you can ask BookingBuilder Support for it.
- You can get the installer by signing in to the BB administration website, then clicking the name appropriate BB Group on the right...
- Close any open GDS such as Amadeus, Apollo, Galileo, Sabre, Smartpoint, or Worldspan.
- Double click on the BB installer file you downloaded. If you get a pop up asking for a username and password, we will need your IT to help.
- You may get a popup error message telling you that you need the .Net Framework to be installed. If not, skip ahead to step 12.
- Click No.
- In your Windows search bar, search for Turn Windows Features on or off
- Or click your way to it by clicking Start, Settings, Apps
- Next scroll down until you see Related Settings, then click on Programs and Features.
- Click on Turn Windows Features on or off.
- Fill in the .Net Framework box that is empty, then click OK.
- Click Let Windows Update download the files for you.
- Click Close Browsers.
- Click through the installer.
- BookingBuilder will start when you click Finish.
- It might pop this up- fill in the 'Do not show...' checkbox and click Enable.
- If BookingBuilder needs the registration code, it will pop up and ask now. You can copy/paste it in or type it, then click Continue. If BB gets blocked, it will need to be run with administrator permissions just this once, so the system recognizes the code. IT might need to help.
- Once BookingBuilder is all done starting, it will pop up a message by the clock that says "Prompts have been loaded".
- Right click the BB icon near the clock again, and choose Update Settings.
- Open Edge and/or Chrome- the ones you want to use with BookingBuilder. You may see a notification that an extension has been added. Click on that or go to the menu dots on the upper right, and find your way to the manage extensions link. Turn on the BookingBuilder Browser Extension (MV3).
- When it gets done updating, BB might ask you to restart it. Right click the BB icon and choose Restart this Application.
- Once it has finished starting, find the BB icon near your computer's clock- you might have to click the little up arrow to the left to show your hidden icons. It will be the letters BB, which might be green, yellow, or red.
- Right-click on the BB icon and choose Configuration.
- Click the Settings tab at the top.
- In the Browser section, use the Launch drop down to select the browser you would like BB to use. The Default choice means BookingBuilder will use the browser your computer is set to use in general. If your preferred browser is missing, pick the BookingBuilder Browser for now. When you have a moment for us to help with the missing browsers, please contact support@bookingbuilder.com or call the number below.
- Click the Save button.
