To upgrade BookingBuilder, you will need to download the software, close some programs, and check on some settings. If you don't have the permissions to install software, we will need your IT to help. If you do have the permissions, and would we connect to your system and take care of this, contact Support at the number below.
Installation
- Download a copy of BookingBuilder here. If it asks you if you want to run or save the file, choose Save.
- Find the BB icon near your computer's clock- you might have to click the little up arrow to the left to show your hidden icons. It looks like a circle containing the letters BB, or just the letters, which might be green, yellow, or red.
- Right click the BB icon and choose Exit. If you don't see that option, please let us know- that will mean it is restricted and we will need to connect remotely or get your IT group to help.
- Close any open GDS such as Amadeus, Apollo, Galileo, Sabre, Smartpoint, or Worldspan.
- Close the BookingBuilder Browser, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge if you have them running.
- Double click on the BB installer file you downloaded. If you get a pop up asking for a username and password, we will need your IT to help.
- Click through the installer.
- BookingBuilder will start when you click Finish.
- It might pop this up- fill in the 'Do not show...' checkbox and click Enable.
- Once BookingBuilder is all done starting, it will pop up a message by the clock that says "Prompts have been loaded".
- Right click the BB icon near the clock again, and choose Update Settings.
- When it gets done, BB might ask you to restart it. Right click the BB icon and choose Restart this Application. Once it comes back up, you should be all set to start using BookingBuilder.
- If you are installing this for someone else, you can hand it off to them now- the rest of the setup is configuration.
Settings
- Open Edge and/or Chrome- the browsers you want to use with BookingBuilder. You may see a notification that an extension has been added. Click on that or go to the menu dots on the upper right, and find your way to the manage extensions link. Turn on the BookingBuilder Browser Extension (MV3).
- Right-click on the BB icon and choose Configuration.
- Click the Settings tab at the top.
- In the Browser section, use the Launch drop down to select the browser you would like BB to use. The Default choice means BookingBuilder will use the browser your computer is set to use in general. If your preferred browser is missing, click here for troubleshooting steps. When you have a moment for us to help with the missing browsers, please contact support@bookingbuilder.com or call the number below. You can pick the BookingBuilder Browser for now if you just need to get started.
- Click the Save button.
- Download a copy of BookingBuilder here. If it asks you if you want to run or save the file, choose Save.
