Note: the screens you see in this article might not match your BookingBuilder exactly, but don't worry about that- the differences are just cosmetic and the directions will still work.
Worldspan
BookingBuilder can connect with Travelport Worldspan, also known as Wspan or GoRes, a GDS which houses the user interface in Microsoft Edge in Internet Explorer mode, and is accessed at https://gopublic.wspan.com/Index.aspx. That does not affect the browser used for booking on supplier sites- you can book in Chrome while in Worldspan in Edge.
The graphical view does not work with BookingBuilder in Edge.
Filter Agent
BookingBuilder historically connected to Filter Agent 2002, but it has effectively been deprecated as it does not work with BookingBuilder with Worldspan in Edge. The Filter Agent icon in the system tray / near the clock is a blue box with a red and green center, and the process is called Worldspan Filter Agent (32 bit).
Edit Control Hook (ECH)
This is the current BookingBuilder interface with Worldspan.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure Worldspan is in its own instance of Edge. If there are multiple tabs in the same Edge window as Worldspan, this can break the connection.
- To put Worldspan in its own Edge, click the Worldspan tab and hold the button down, then drag the tab a bit downwards to 'tear it off' of the rest of them.
- Exit BookingBuilder and run through the steps to re-register BookingBuilder found here.
- Download and run-as-admin the attached batch file, 64019.bat or 64019.txt (and rename to .bat). It's a good idea to start BookingBuilder and Worldspan and test at this point.
- Check for a legacy setting, forcing the use of Filter Agent.
- Right click the BB icon by the clock and choose Configuration. You will be on the Diagnostics tab.
- Click the Advanced button, then Yes.
- In the Item drop down, find GoResUseFilterWithTS.
- If you see a value, click Unset.
- In the Item drop down, find GoResDoNotUseFilter.
- In the Value drop down, select True.
- Click Set.
- Restart BookingBuilder and Worldspan.
- Right click the BB icon by the clock and choose Configuration. You will be on the Diagnostics tab.
- Make sure security software like an anti-virus or firewall isn't blocking it. Processes to look for include LMWSISVR.EXE, BBComm.exe, and BBDesktop.exe. A quick way to check is of course to turn all that off and restart BookingBuilder and Worldspan.
- Audit the Windows user's effective permissions- sometimes it will turn out that one of those changed itself or they are mistakenly in a user group that they inherited from. The quickest way to do that may be to create a new user account and see if it has the same problem.
- Check the Windows events for general problems related to network communications- these can frequently be repaired of course with DISM, SFC, and the .Net Repair Tool.
- Reinstall Worldspan- experience has shown that it is often wise to inactivate anti-virus software during this process.
