BookingBuilder uses an Extension to open and interact with web pages in Google Chrome. Sometimes security settings or programs will block it, at least at first.
Turn on the Extension
- In Chrome, click the 'hamburger' menu (3 dots) on the upper right.
- Click Extensions.
then Manage Extensions. - or you can paste chrome://extensions/ into Chrome's address bar.
- If BB's extension is turned off, the switch will be grey- click on it to turn it on, and it will turn blue.
- If BB's extension is turned on, the switch will be blue- click on it to turn it off so it turns grey, then click again to turn it blue.
- Test to see if it worked by using BB to open a supplier site you normally use in Chrome.
Re-add the extension
If turning it on and off didn't help, we can try removing and re-adding it.
- In the Extensions area of Chrome, find BookingBuilder and click the Remove button, then confirm with Remove again.
- Go to the Chrome Store location to get the extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/bookingbuilder-browser-ex/ffhppljceolofjlminnljjloblcokong
- Click the Add to Chrome button.
- Click Add Extension.
- Close the popup that says it has been added.
- Test to see if it worked by using BB to open a supplier site you normally use in Chrome.
Register the extension
This one is a bit advanced, so feel free to skip it and call BookingBuilder Support- otherwise:
- Close Chrome
- Right click the BB icon and choose Exit
- Open a CMD window- it is quickest to search for CMD in Windows. Click the result that is a black box
- Adjust this text to match the Windows username- here it is set for a user who's Windows logon is Alice. If yours is BobSmith, change it to say BobSmith:
"C:\Users\Alice\AppData\Local\BookingBuilder\bin\LMGoogleChromeHost.exe" /install - Paste that text into the CMD window (if it doesn't go to the next line, hit the Enter key).
