This article is intended for people who will manage the BB Browser for users- if just need to know how to use it, check here.
The BookingBuilder Browser is the built-in browser for BookingBuilder Desktop. Google has proposed a change to the way websites work, referred to as MV3. If that is implemented, it might necessitate using this browser for booking on some suppliers.
The BB Browser is based on Microsoft Edge, using Microsoft's WebView2 technology. It receives security updates at the same time as Edge. Other updates come through the normal BookingBuilder Desktop update process.
It can be controlled using Windows policies just like Edge. It can be controlled discretely using these files BBBrowser.adml and BBBrowser.admx (attached at the bottom of this article).
There is a white/black list setting to control what sites it can and can't go to, but in cases where that conflicts with a Windows policy, the Windows Policy takes precedence and overrides the BB Browser setting.
During normal use, the BB Browser opens when the user clicks the Web button. It can also be accessed by double clicking the icon in the System Tray.
You can create a shortcut on the Desktop by going to About:
It can also be opened directly by going to C:\Program Files (x86)\BookingBuilder BB.Client.BBBrowser.exe.

Administration
The BB Browser can be managed on admin.bookingbuilder.com, at the Group level, using the Manage Policies link on the lower left.
It can be used to whitelist or blacklist sites, allowing or blocking using simple addresses, subdomains, and even regular expressions. Exceptions to the policies can also be made.
The Navigation section controls what sites can be accessed. The Resource section controls what can be done from within a site, such as allowing a user to access one link but not another. .
Users are informed of blocks:
