On the right side of the main page, you will find the area devoted to Groups (collections of settings, Genie Prompts, and the computers/users in them).
There are a number of columns:
- Group is the link to the actual Group and its settings
- GroupID is the unique identifying number assigned to the Group.
- Prompts shows the number of active Genie prompts in the Group, as well as the total. 2/3 would indicate 2 active prompts out of a total of 3, with 1 inactive.
- Rules displays the number of Boost Rules in the Group, as well as the total. 23/28 would indicate 23 active rules out of a total of 28.
- BBD shows a checkbox telling us if BookingBuilder Desktop is enabled.
- Genie displays a checkbox indicating if the Group has Genie turned on.
- Boost has a checkbox showing if it is active for the Group.
- Upgrades To is useful for determining if Groups have automatic upgrades turned on. Most new versions of BookingBuilder can be applied through its normal update process, just like settings. Some Groups have that turned off owing to internal software review processes. The version here indicates which version automatic upgrading stops at. This will also remain the same if a given version needs an installation in order to upgrade.
- Rename is a link that lets you change the name of the Group.
- Delete is used to remove a Group. The option will not be there if there are any computers in the Group.
If you have deleted a Group and need to get it back- scroll to the bottom and use the Recover Deleted Groups button.
- You will get a screen with a list of deleted Groups.
- Fill in the checkmarks for the ones you want to recover
- Scroll to the bottom and click Recover
- You will be back on the main page, and your Groups will be renamed to show they were recovered (which you can of course change).
- scroll to the bottom and use the Recover Deleted Groups button.
To create a new Group:
- Use the New Group link on the upper left.
- Enter the name of the new Group
- Select an existing Group to copy the settings from. These can be changed once the Group is created, but this can save some time.
- Click the Add New Group button.
