Note: the screens you see in this article might not match your BookingBuilder exactly, but don't worry about that- the differences are just cosmetic and the directions will still work.
General Repair Steps
These steps can fix a number of problems with BookingBuilder- if the software won't start, freezes, etc. They assume you have administrative access to the system- if you don't, you will either be blocked or get a popup asking for the admin username and password.
Re-register Components
This can help even if you have already tried re-installing BookingBuilder.
- Find the BB icon near your computer's clock- you might have to click the little up arrow to the left to show your hidden icons. It will be a BB, which might be green, yellow, or red, or it may even be entirely missing. If you do see it, right click the BB icon and choose Exit, but otherwise just go to the next step.
- We need to check for some BookingBuilder processes, and shut them down in case they are still running. Turn on your Task Manager- if you right click the bar at the bottom it will be a menu item, or you can press the keys CTRL + ALT + DEL at the same time, and choose it from the lock screen that pops up
- Depending on your version of Windows, you might see a Processes tab- if not, click 'More Details' down at the bottom.
- Scroll down and see if you can find each of the processes listed below. Most of them might already be gone There might be more than one list, so go all the way to the bottom- you can click the Name column header to make it sort alphabetically.
Once you do find one, click it to highlight it, then use the End Task button on the lower right. Depending on what version of Windows you have, it might be labeled End Process instead, but it does the same thing.
The processes to close are:
BBDesktop
BBShutdownmonitor
GDSIamadeusexe
LMGoogleChromeHost
- Close any open GDS such as Amadeus, Travelport +, Smartpoint, or Worldspan.
- Close Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
- Navigate to the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\BookingBuilder.
- Find lmreg and right click on it, then choose Run as Administrator or More, then Run as Administrator. You might see a black window pop up on the screen- it should go away on its own.
- Do the same with lmregasm.
- Now do that with repairinstallation . That one will probably pop up a BookingBuilder install screen- click on through it. While it happens rarely, BookingBuilder might start at the end of that process. If it does, please proceed through steps 1-4 again before continuing.
Refresh the Files
The next steps assume you've exited everything- see steps 1-4 above before continuing otherwise.
- Right click the BB icon and choose Exit.
- Close any open GDS programs.
- Open Task Manager.
- If these are running, end-task them:
- BBAmadeusSDKPlugin
- LMGoogleChromeHost . This one is special, as it can be a sub-process of Chrome or Edge, or be by itself. Click the > to the left of Chrome and Edge to show the sub-processes.
- Open a file folder / Windows Explorer folder.

- In the address bar at the top, put in %appdata% then hit Enter.
- You will be in AppData\Roaming. Open the BookingBuilder folder.
- Open the Data folder.
- Delete BB Updater.

- In the address bar at the top, put in %localappdata% and hit Enter.

- You will be in AppData\Local. Open the BookingBuilder folder.
- Delete all of the folders in there- if you press CTRL and A at the ame time, it will select them all. If Bin warns you it can't delete things, fill in the 'do this for all' checkbox and click Skip.

- Open the Bin folder. Use CTRL and A again and delete everything. Skip again.
- Start BookingBuilder from the Windows start menu.
- When it says "prompts have been loaded", right click the BB icon near the clock and choose Update Settings. BookingBuilder will restart after that, and it should be ready to go then.
