If your BookingBuilder won't finish starting, and gets stuck on the Restoring Data message, this is what to do.
- Turn on your Task Manager- if you right click the bar at the bottom it will be an item:
or you can use CTRL + ALT + DEL and choose it from the lock screen that pops up. - You should see a Processes tab- if not, click More Details.
- The Detail view of the Task Manager might look a bit different on your computer. There might be different columns, or you might not see End Task on the lower right- for some versions of Windows, it might say End Process.
- We'll want these items sorted alphabetically- if they aren't, click on where it says Name. If they end up reverse order, Z to A, clicking Name again will set them A to Z.
- We're going to turn off any pieces of BookingBuilder that are running. The first one to look for is BBDesktop. If you see it, click on it to highlight it.
- Click End Task.
- There are some more, listed below. Keep scrolling down- you will want to go all the way to the bottom to make sure, because the tasks are divided into more than one list (Apps, Background Processes, etc). If you see any of these, click on them, then click End Task. If you don't see them all, that's fine- just get the ones you do see.
- BBLoader
- GDSIAmadeusexe
- LMGDSInt
- LMGDSFNC
- LMGoogleChromeHost
- Open a file folder / Windows Explorer folder.
- Navigate to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\BookingBuilder\DL , replacing 'UserName' with your own. We're going to delete the _SharedFolderLock_ file, which you can do now if you've found it. Otherwise, more detailed directions follow:
You can also get there by right clicking the BB icon and choosing Configuration....
... then clicking Open AppData Folders.
Two or three folders will open. We want the one that has the DL folder in it.
- Double click the DL folder to open it.
- Delete the file _SharedFolderLock_
- Go to Start, find BookingBuilder, and turn it back on.
